Service
Type PTS Regulator is a combination of
our Precision Pressure Regulator, Type E Solenoid Valve
and a Thermostatic Control.
Steam is admitted to Pressure Regulator through a
114" Type E Solenoid Valve as illustrated, which is
opened and closed by the thermostatic control. The
thermostat can be set to any desired degree and when
temperature is reached, the thermostatic control opens,
de-energizing the Solenoid Valve, shutting off the steam
supply to the pilot valve of the Regulator. When the
temperature drops below the set temperature, the
thermostatic control closes, energizing the Solenoid,
admitting steam to the Pilot Valve of the Regulator, and
the Regulator operates as a Pressure Regulating Valve,
maintaining any desired reduced pressure.
This Pressure and Temperature Regulator admits full
steam flow to the process until desired temperature is
reached, thereby the time of heating is materially
reduced. The Pressure and Temperature Control Combination
is unlimited in its scope. Various types of temperature
control switches are readily adaptable such as the
immersion type for liquids, fin type for air ducts and
space type, such as ordinary room thermostats for the
control of offices, factories and warehouses. The Type
PTS unit will not only reduce the steam pressure but
solves your temperature control problem as well.
Regulators available in sizes 112" through 6"
for initial pressures up to 300 psi. In ordering, specify
both initial and reduced pressure, temperature to be
maintained, type of switch, and current characteristics.

The Type PTS Pressure and Temperature Regulator is
operated electrically through a switch, of various types;
can be engineered to accomplish many varied results. This
Control Valve can be used in conjunction with a standard
type room thermostat, all types of immersion switches
whether with direct or remote bulb indicating or
non-indicating, recording instruments, space control
switches, indoor and outdoor temperature control, panel
mounting switches or any type required to obtain the
desired results.
