Tylok
Metric Couplings

Tylok Metric Couplings are made with Tylok's patented four-seal design which provides
more effective sealing area than any other coupling on the market. They are not affected
by shock, vibration, surge and temperature and will hold beyond the yield point of tubing
in most applications. Applications include instrumentation, chemical processing, diffusion
pumping, sampling lines, transfer lines, pump and valve port connections, any application
requiring reliable tube connections with pressure tight seal.
DESIGN/FEATURES
- Positive 4-point seal.*
- Flareless design - eliminates costly flaring time and the subsequent work hardening of
tubing.
- No special preparation for assembly.
- No special Preparation of tubing is necessary.
- Coupling is completely assembled, ready for use.
- Collets skive tubing, instead of biting.
- Can be visually inspected for tightness.
- Can be disassembled readily. Crack nut 1/8 turn with wrench and spin off.
- Can be reassembled readily. Spin nut fully on reset lock by 1/4 turn with wrench.
- Unaffected by the number of service connects and disconnects with original parts.
- Only the collets need to be replaced when retubing.
- Doesn't restrict flow through tubing.
- Tylok nut can be backed around a 900 bend in tubing.
- Cannot be assembled incorrectly when proper procedure is followed.
- Cannot be cross-threaded, misaligned or overtightened.
- Cannot cause tubing to be sheared or weakened from over-tightening.
- Cannot be jammed - body taper assures easy dismantling.
- Tubing end does not have to be cut perfectly square to maintain leakproof seal.

SPECIFICATIONS
Construction:
Tylok Metric Couplings are manufactured with strict quality control procedures
throughout production. All parts are individually inspected to close tolerances to provide
our customers with the highest quality product. Tylok bodies, nuts, and collets are all
made of the same material and it is recommended that tubing be softer than fitting to
achieve effective seal. For this reason steel and stainless steel tubing should be fully
annealed after last draw. Hardness should not exceed Rockwell B90.
Material:
Metallic - Brass, Steel, 316 Stainless Steel.
Configurations: All Standard Shapes. Special configurations on request. V notch in nut
designates metric tube end. V notch in body hex designates connector thread on body to be
ISO thread.
Sizes:
3 mm through 16 mm Standard. Larger sizes on request.
Operating Pressure Ranges: To 10,000 PSI (700 bar) dependent on material.
Operating Temperature Ranges: To 900OF (482*C) dependent on material. |
