Hernon offers
a complete line of "Nuts N' Bolts"' adhesives & sealants. These
anaerobic adhesives are designed for use with assemblies having threaded fasteners. They
are single component, 100% active liquids that are self-hardening when air is omitted as
between the mating surfaces of a nut and bolt, while remaining a stable liquid in its
container.
A wide selection of Nuts N' Bolts (TM) adhesives & sealants are available to
provide specialized performance to meet your product specification and maintenance
requirements. Adhesive properties such as maximum gap filling, cure time, shear strength
(breakaway and prevailing torque), and viscosities can be matched to meet your specific
needs.
Nuts N' Bolts' adhesives & sealants replace lockwashers and other expensive
methods to prevent vibration and loosening of parts, thus improving machine reliability. These
adhesives also seal against leakage eliminating internal corrosion for the life cycle of
the assembly.
All fasteners have manufacturing tolerances varying by the
"class of fit" specified for the threads. Application of "Nuts N'
Bolts(TM) adhesives allow uniform distribution of the adhesive material into the voids
between thread pressure-flanks and thread roots. The statistical variabilities of each
thread path is filled with liquid adhesive, which cures into a tough helical, path, and
prevents leakage past the seal of the polymer and prevents self loosening of the mated
parts due to transverse vibration. Before the fastener pressure flanks can move, the cured
adhesive in the thread roots must be overcome by the magnitude of vibration. Adhesives
with greater "strength" possess greater mechanical shear strengths to resist
greater magnitudes of vibration.
